r.i.p. richard hamilton

just got re-make re-model in the mail today, the story of how roxy music grew out of the british pop art scene, of which hamilton was a key figure

his famous collage from 1956 predates american pop by several years, though it’s not the earliest example, apparently.

he made copies of duchamp’s works approved by the artist, too.

the relationship of pop to duchamp & dada has had millions of words thrown at it. not sure where i’m at with all that now.
